I first met Kelsey and Eric at Miami University in the fall of 2019, where I was also first introduced to the term “Miami Merger.” We had such a fun time taking engagement photos while walking around the campus where they first fell in love. Fast forward to the their wedding day in the lovely Mt. Adams area where we were able to celebrate this classy couple! The guys used the Monastery Guest House Airbnb across the street to get suited-up, while the girls enjoyed getting ready in the bridal suite (hello picturesque mirror!!) at the Monastery Event Center. Can we just talk about emerald green for a second? GORGEOUS. It was such a luxurious color scheme.
Now normally I’m a sucker for any and all photos possible happening outside – I just love natural light. But when you have a venue as beautiful as The Monastery Event Center, you just have to have the bride and groom center stage for their first look. Kelsey was beaming and just as giddy as can be when Eric turned to see her! It was the best! Truly an honor to capture that moment.
I just love the Mt. Adams area as it offers so many beautiful photo locations close by, including Eden Park. After finishing up at the park, Eric and Kelsey headed to the chapel to get married! These two tied the knot at the beautiful Holy Cross Immaculata in Mt. Adams. Once pronounced husband and wife, the newlyweds, their family, bridal party and wedding guests paraded up the hill, led by a bagpiper, to The Monastery Event Center for a dazzling cocktail hour and reception. The table decor, beautiful flowers, gold candelabras, head table green goblets, and velvet emerald table runners were just a few of the details that made for a truly exquisite atmosphere. (Hats off to Marti Heard Designs and the Monastery team! And thanks to Cincy Event Planning for making sure the day went extra smoothly!)
Bridal party introductions were closely followed up by the cake cutting. This stunning Tres Belle wedding cake was surrounded by other delish Cincinnati sweets from Holtman’s Donuts to Taste of Belgium macaroons to Graeter’s pastries and more! (heavenly!) A delicious dinner was then served family style. Then – the toasts. Usually you will find me tearing up during the parent dances thinking of my kids’ weddings someday, but Eric’s best man’s speech had me tearing up from laughter! One of the funniest best man toasts I’ve ever heard. This sweet couple’s first dance ended with an epic dip, which made for not only a memorable moment but also a frame-worthy photo – one that I’m sure Kelsey and Eric’s grandchildren will enjoy one day. After their dances with their parents, Chad with Perfect Day DJs opened up the dance floor and the rest is history! What a fun night!
Congrats again to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson!
