Rebecca and Robert met as freshmen in college at Xavier University in 2012, started dating soon after and have been together ever since! They originally planned their dream wedding for May 1, 2020. With the onset of the Covid pandemic, it became apparent that they would have to change their plans. While they chose to delay the celebration with family and friends, they decided to move forward with committing their lives to one another in marriage in a sweet and small outdoor ceremony in Mt. Adams on May 2, 2020. Robert and Rebecca rescheduled their original wedding for January of 2021; never could they have imagined they would have to postpone again. When I talked to Rebecca just a few months ago, I could hear the disappointment in her voice as she explained how she had to grieve the loss of not one, but two weddings. She and Robert went through the build up, excitement, planning, scheduling and rescheduling leading up to their wedding day twice, only to have it fall through both times. However, as May 1, 2021 approached, and it looked like their wedding day was actually going to happen, the anticipation and excitement resurfaced and Robert and Rebecca were all smiles when the day FINALLY came!

On Saturday, May 1, Robert and Rebecca were surrounded by their family and friends, including much of their extended families they hadn’t seen in so long. It was such a beautiful day of celebration and reunion as Robert and Rebecca renewed their vows at the Bellarmine Chapel at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio – so fitting as that is where their love story first began. We had the perfect weather to walk around Xavier’s campus for photos after their ceremony and then stopped by one of their favorite spots from their college days, Dana Gardens, before heading to Alms Park! Their reception was one of my favorites. The gorgeous weather, the twinkling string lights over the dance floor, the stately stone pavilion, the clean and classic palette of whites, golds and greenery, the ornate cake, and the added touch of brilliant drama and hilarity as the sisters of the bride brought on an epic speech that surprised and entertained the whole crowd! Toasts were followed by lovely dances in beautiful golden light just before the dance floor opened when the real party started! It sure was a long wait, but the third time was a charm for sure!

During one of our conversations, Rebecca mentioned that the photos of this day were most important to her because they weren’t able to have a photographer at their small ceremony last year. It was such a privilege to capture these special moments for this sweet couple to be able to look back on for many many years to come.

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Lamey!!
